I'd like to do a little survey on which Radio & TV pastors & teachers are your favorites. The ones above are some of my favorites who are on my local radio, so feel free to check other and explain below. Please explain why they're your favorite, including something about their theology. *Please do not bash* I don't mind constructive critiques, though. Not everyone is going to agree, and that's fine. I'm just trying to find a couple of good teachers who will fit the framework I am trying to build.
Years ago, I used to have lots of time in the car and I would listen to these pastors regularly. My faith was growing greatly! But today, I have a hard time staying motivated to do in-depth Bible study, so I thought that if I started listening to the radio again, I could jump-start my Bible study. I'm often inspired by their sermons and spend more time in the Word when I'm listening on a daily basis.

Charles Stanley is a favorite for me. He seems to always have his bible in his hands when he's preaching. I think that's important.

I voted for Chuck Swindoll and John MacArthur. THey'd provide you with a good balance. I love how knowledgeable John MacArthur is, and I love Swindoll's relational approach.

Two of my favorites right now are Charles Stanley because of his relational approach and applicability to everyday life, and Beth Moore because of her focus on Biblical literacy. Two others who present a very solid knowledge of the Bible are Ravi Zacharias and Alistair Begg, and I want to learn a little more about them. MacArthur is one I've heard a lot about, positive and negative. I want to look into the "negative" a little more to see how accurate the statement was.

Favorite? Mmm... I regularly watch(weekly)Charles Stanley and frequently refer to J.Vernon McGee's 'Thru the Bible' commentaries as a primary study source.

I listen to Charles Stanley daily, but he's not one of my most favourite. I like him. The only comment I have about him is that he doesn't seem to use bible passages all that much. I guess he's preaching to Christians with good background already, so he doesn't see a need to reference a lot of bible passages. I prefer to look up the verses and follow with him. Also, I don't like that he takes one verse at times and make that the whole message, and I'm not always sure if it's being taken in context. I'm a huge believer in reading the whole passage, giving the context, before proceeding with the message.
Otherwise, his messages are very good and sound.

Lol, Dancre, you're hilarious! YOu forgot the smiley preacher though. Don't tell me you don't watch Joel Osteen religiously???
One criticism about MacArthur is that he is a bit Pharisaic if you don't know him. People claim that he preaches work based salvation. I've been listening to him long enough to know that this is abolutely not true.

I did forget Joel. :((( I get his devotional every day. I also listen to Sadhu Sundar Selvaraj. He's a real 'heretic'. Don't listen to him, you might get stronger in the Lord and want to give up everything for Christ. Very bad!!! :)
Edit: I also listen to worship music from IHOP. I'm so disillusioned.

PH, if I remember correctly, the criticism of MacArthur was that he was fundamental and preaching works-based salvation. I'm not discounting him yet.
BTW, for those who don't know, I'm in the process of developing a theory of counseling for one of my classes and I'm filtering a LOT of information right now. My assignment only includes authors right now, but I'm also looking for a few good radio pastors who generally supports my theory. I have these radio pastors, a few pastors in my field of study, my local pastors, etc.

That sounds like an interesting class assigment. Is this for a christian class or secular? and God's blessings on it. My friend is attending a christian college to be a counselor. She's 51 years old and took off to follow God. She's incredible!! I admire her so very much!!

My favorite is Chip Ingraham http://www.lote.org/
I also like R.C. Sproul and Ron Vietti. I am a weird sort of Christian. I hold to the reformed theology but believe in the gifts of the Spirit... I see no conflict as some of the major reformed teachers do... it bothers me greatly when I hear someone who has such a good understanding of the doctrines of grace dismiss the power of the holy Spirit as emotional or sensational...
Perhaps there will be a coming together.

Authors?? May I suggest Walter Marshall "The Gospel Mystery of Sanctification", Terry. L. Johnson's books on grace, and anything by Thomas Watson.
Both Marshall and Watson lived in the 17th century but they are incredible. Marshall's book has been revised into modern language and Waton's either have been or don't need to be. Johnson is contemporary.

I would say that Jonathan Falwell is my favorite. He isn't on radio where I live, but I can catch him on TV.
I think nowdays internet would be acceptable in the TV/radio category.
I download sermons by:
Jonathan Falwell
Johnny Hunt
Chuck Swindoll
Charles Stanley
and others off of their church websites or through Itunes.
Great content on Itunes, and preaching is generally free on there.

Oh yes, I love iTunes. I didn't realize that Jonathan Falwell was on TV. That's cool! I have a few sermons from Thomas Road Baptist that I haven't listened to yet.
Mike, I didn't include Dobson or DeMoss, because they're specialized and aren't considered pastors or Biblical teachers. But I do like them and don't mind them being brought up.
Another preacher I sometimes like to listen to is Ergun Caner, an apologist. He has a very direct style that offends a lot of people, but he does get his point across. PH, have you listened to him?

I'm with you there. I see no conflict between the two. I don't consider myself reformed, just evangelical.
I know a little about RC Sproul, but not the other two.

I like Joel Osteen,Joyce Meyers,
and Jentzen Franklin the best.
I have Battlefield of the mind which has
helped me out alot,and a book by Joel osteen as well.
I have seen Jentzen Franklin a couple times at youth retreats
and he is very awesome.

I've never heard of him, but thanks for bringing him into my radar.
I specially like Ravi Zacahrias though I've only listened to him a few times. I'll try to find his website and add him to my daily shows.
Another popular one is Greg Laurie. Someone in the SIngles forum really likes him. I've listened to him a few times. He's ok, but I haven't really formed an opinion yet.
