Is there a way I can convert my iTunes song to an mp3 or some other file? All I want to do is download a song onto the homepage of my blog. I have a Mac.

From iTunes, burn an mp3 cd with the song. This should convert the song to an mp3.

Is it a different kind of CD vs the regular RCD?

Yes, it's an mp3 format CD. For a while in the early 2000's when mp3 players weren't as popular, car and portable CD players were available that would read mp3 cds. They can store about 4 hours of music vs. about one on a regular cd. But, now that I think about it, she could burn a regular cd too, and then convert it back to mp3.

Just in case you're still doing this, or in case someone else reads this thread, there is an easier way *if* the song was not purchased from a store that uses DRM (Digital Rights Management, which may prevent this):

Go to the song in iTunes > right-click it > click "Create MP3 Version"

Of course, you'll want to check into your license to the song and whether it allows you to post it to a Web site. That may be a violation of the song artist's copyright, and we don't want to do that, do we?
