I'm curious to know if anyone has the Keurig system, and if so, what you think of it? Is it as convenient as it seems and how good of a cup of coffee does it make? It really appeals to me for many reasons, but I'd like to hear from people who have used it.

How many cups of coffee are in there? Does it just stay there until you drink it all? What if you're only one person and that takes awhile?

The coffee isn't made in the maker itself...it's made in whatever individual coffee cup you put there. It's only the water that is kept in the coffeemaker. There IS no leftover coffee at all, unless you just don't finish your cup. Each new cup is freshly made with a new coffee/tea packet you place in the maker.

I've come to conclusion that if it's featured in the Bed, Bath, and Beyond fliers it's a sure ripoff. Ya want a small coffee maker? Get a Mr. Coffee Junior. I've had mine for 10 years.

We have a Keurig at work. I LOVE IT. It makes a single cup of coffee, and the brand of coffee that we use is the best, it's Timothy's. I don't know if you have Timothy's coffee in the states though? The machine we have at work lets you choose 8oz or 10 oz, depending on how strong you like it. I am a coffee snob, and I'll tell you, it makes a pretty good cup of coffee. I don't know that I would pay the money to have one at home, it seems that buying the K-cups could get expensive...? How often would you use it?

I just returned from visiting my sister and she has one. I liked it so much that she is getting me one for Christmas. You can make coffee or tea and can make it as weak or strong as you like. Also, the units come in two sizes. She gets her coffee on-line somewhere for a discount. Maybe it depends on how many people in your house drink coffee.

I'm not necessarily sold on getting one yet, or even sure it's worth it. That's why I'm in the research stages I like the idea of no measuring coffee(or water) out every morning, no cleaning out a pot, and no wasted leftover coffee. Popping one pre-measured thing into the maker and coffee in 90 seconds with no rinsing or clean up is very appealing! quote:

I see on Amazon that they have a model that sells for around $75. That's not too bad. Most of the ones I've seen have been $120 or more. But, since I drink a blend of decaf and regular, I couldn't use one. Buying the filter thing that allows you to use your own coffee makes it way too much money when a 4 cup brewer goes for around $15. Besides, if I'm gonna buy a fancy coffee maker it will have to do cappucino, or else why bother?

We have one at work and when we have the extra $ I will get one at home. I love that you can make just one cup. I know you can do that with a regular machine but I like that you can get a few varieties of flavors. Then you can brew what you're in the mood for. The flavors are great, I love the Butter Toffee and the German Chocolate Cake. My boss just ordered about 10 boxes of the coffee's and paid around $160, I think it is about $1.35 per cup. So it it pricey but it still comes out less than Starbucks.

Mrs. Kerrlaw's school has one for the teacher's to use. She loves it so much that she wants one for Christmas. The cost is around fifty cents per cup. The advantage is that different people (coffee drinkers, tea drinkers, cocoa drinkers) can share a machine.

If I did, I'd get the $70-$80 one and the thing that keeps stopping me is that it says it makes an 8oz cup of coffee. That seems like not enough, I want a 16oz mug full. But I don't really understand how they operate, does it just take a couple seconds and I could just do 2 cups quick-like? From what I've read on their website, it makes a full cup in under a minute. I would guess if you want a "double" like for a travel mug, you could just make a second cup. Two minutes is a lot less time than it takes me to brew 2 cups on my regular maker.

I'm pretty sure you could just do two cups in a row. You'd probably have to use 2 k-cups though if you wanted it regular strength. Our machine at work has two settings, 8oz and 10oz, but I prefer the 8. It actually takes less than 90 seconds, so I'm sure it wouldn't be any trouble to double it.
