Anyone have experience with the Evangelical Presbyterians? They began in the early 1980's in response to the liberalizing PCUSA yet are not as conservative as the PCA or OPC. Just began reading up on them this weekend.

Sorry, no. It was about that time that I was heading overseas.

Same here, except I was a non-practicing Catholic trying to survive junior high and hating life.

As of this day, the name rings a bell, but I don't know anything about them.

Well they are still around as the PCUSA church I am currently attending
is considering them as an acceptable branch. Those who attended the
general assembly this year came home very disheartened of any hope
for the future in PCUSA.

I would suspect that whatever PCUSA decides regarding the EPC's "acceptability" would not necessarily mean that EPC agrees with PCUSA on all fronts (or at all).

I should say so! Good grief.... I'm a prophet.

web site where I could plunge into Calvinist theology.

I too prefer "Reformed Theology" ... as "Augustine_Was_Calvinist" indicates by the handle used, Calvin wasn't the first to think this way.

The Westminster Large Catechism

Institutes of the Christian Religion

Charles Hodge Systematic Theology

Also, the book "What is Reformed Theology" by RC Sproul is an outstanding read.

Blessings

Hey Theo.

I've noticed your posts around lately. Are you new here? Or are you an old friend with a new ID?

Hey Theo.

Are you new here?

Howdy - I'm new to the community. Thought I'd poke around and see what is important to folks and what they are facing.

Blessings.

Folks,

Pray for me...

I went to the dermatologist about a spot on my neck that had been there for a while... it is probably either basal cell carcinoma or squamous cell carcinoma (one of two types of skin cancer). They did a biopsy and results should be back next week.

Prognosis is good... both of those types of cancer usually are locally invasive (only) and do not usually spread elsewhere, and the doc seems confident that he can just burn it out and that's the last I'll have to deal with it.

Nevertheless... God must decree my health (it ain't up to the doctor).

PS... I'll take this opportunity to put in a plug for sunscreen. If you aren't using it, then start. If you aren't using at least SPF 30, then upgrade. Get your Vitamin D from milk, not baking.

Doink,

And I you. It appears that in fact I am the one who can relate to you a little bit, not the other way around..

God has blessed me undeservedly, now for the second time in this particular arena. Last time it was Hodgkins (another "lite" version of this post-fall cellular wackiness).

Here's a situation for prayer:
http://www.accessnorthga.com/detail.php?n=213309

The victim was my wife's client. Supposedly her husband did not have a gun and we are seriously considering lobbying for legislation changes that would insure that whoever provides the murder weapon would be convicted as an accomplice.

You're in my prayers John, hope all resolves quickly.

April, I am finishing my course of six treatments with only one more to go next week. Cancer protein counts are down and both docs recommended stopping all treatments for as long as I can so my body can recover. They will check my bloodwork regularly. This is a scary step to take with everything else going in my life right now.
