Hope I did not bore you with too much info.
blessings...PJ

Oh, you didn't. I'm sure that if I was a member of such a legendary quartet as the Prophets that I would be promoting it as enthusiastically or MORE so than you.

If you ever heard me sing by the way, you would KNOW that that's probably not in my future.

Prophets had a terrific TV shoot on Monday. Laid down 14 tunes. plus 3 piano solos by Eddie Crook. Everything was a fav or standard. Real music. NO tracks. Just playin' and singin'...kinda retro. Even shot some, singing with only 2 old RCA mics. Producers loved the look and sound of that stuff. They are planning on a retro cocept video, which we will begin shooting tomorrow.

LIVE audience comes in Tuesday nite. Special feature will include some solos by group members...and a guest appearance by Johnny Minick. If you are in the Nashville area, come join us. You will love it. Call me at: 501-680-3094, if you want directions to the shoot.

Blessings...PJ

PS: yesterday was Ed Hill's 74th Birthday! Happy Bday Bro Ed!

DJS, wish you could have been here. You would have loved last nite's
session. The LIVE audience was fantastic! They really energized
the fellas. We had a great time!

Hope you get TCT television in Cleveland...or have DIRECT TV.
Our show is slotted to begin airing in the next Qtr...could be as
early as April. Should be on other networks and/or stations soon.
We pray that people will be encouraged...really
inspired to love and serve HIM more! Amen.

There will also be DVD's available from the shows...AND we will
be in the recording studio very soon, making a Cd from the 14
classics we performed in this Shoot. All favs and standards.
Thanks for your interest...and prayers!

Thanks for your prayers. I had a great trip to Nashville. The Prophets had two good rehearsals. As well as working on all the songs from our Cd, with piano acc only, we added some standards for our next TV shoot.
They include: Ms Dottie's, I CALL HIM LORD...the classic, JUST A CLOSER WALK WITH THEE...and the all-time favorite hymn, AMAZING GRACE.

PRAYER ALERT: please pray for Bill Baize and his wife Dorcas. Her 99 year old Mother is in grave condition. They have rushed to her bedside
in IL. All of us Prophets are praying extra hard for our veteran tenor
and his family during these days.

We postponed our TV Shoot scheduled for this week, due to my vocal problems from a strange late winter cold. Could have sung a stage program, but they want us 100% for TV taping....as a result, I have not gotten an update on the condition of Bill's Mother-in-Law. Please keep praying for the entire family...will post an update, later today!

Thanks for posting over here on The Prophets thread. I did not realize that The Blackwood Brothers used the 2 Mic presentation exclusively. I knew that the DE's did. thought they were the only one. That's cool!

Yeh, they went back on the second day of our shoot and did a couple of more tunes with the retro staging...and shot it with effects, for a concept video that they are getting pretty enthused about. We are too old to do all the road work you guys are doing. Hope the TV show will touch some folks. Would love to see you guys in concert...gonna watch your website to see the schedule. Thanks again for coming by our thread. We have got to get you guys on our show for an appearance. now that would be cool, doing some sangin' together!

We are rehearsing for TV, again this Wednesday. Please pray for us...and for safe travel for all. We are also still open to suggestions for songs for the Show. Pretty much only doing hymns and standards. Would love to include some of your favs!

You are a Gaither guy...that's for sure! 2 great tunes. I think that
BECAUSE HE LIVES will make the cut. The guys will know that one.
SSBG would take a little more work building an arrangement. Like
you, I think highly of both, but I think of SSBG and Glenn Payne
is my next thought. At his funeral they closed the service with a video
of the Cats singing that song. Still kind'a think of it as his tune.
Probably need to get over that.

thanks for the suggestions!

Thanks Sam. We Prophets are excited and very proud of Ed Hill.

YES! He will be inducted into the SGMA Hall of Fame at the annual
ceremony at the Hall in Dollywood on Oct 7, 2009.
Ed and Sharon are two of the finest people to ever serve The Lord
through southern Gospel music ministry/industry.

Personally, he has always been a Hall-of-Famer to me. In my opinion, biased as I am, I don't think there is a male qt today with the "Legend" power of The Prophets. I consider it a priviledge and a blessing to be able to stand on the stage between Ed Hill and Bill Baize, and with Eddie Crook and Mike Allen. It's also, a lot of fun!

You know I will! Spoke with Ed about that today. You should call him to congratulate him. He would love to speak with you. You can reach him at the number on his website: edhill4u.com
He leaves for a date tomorrow. Try him Tuesday.

Not ashamed to say that I hope they will have The Prophets sing something that day. Would be one of the best ways to honor Ed.
Kathy will be with me if possible. Our first Grand is due Oct 1...in Tampa!

PS: it's am impressive class of inductees, dont ya think?

It is. I just wish people could get inducted while they are still with us so they can enjoy it a while. Billy Todd for example. I am glad Ed Hill was inducted now instead of after he join the Heavenly Choir.

You are so right Sam!

Ed has never campaigned for anything. Could have...should have been inducted much earlier. But all the inductees I have seen, are deserving folks. But Ed...he is special. A great team player...but was also a great manager back in the day...with TPQ and SA!

Hope we can have dinner with you in Oct...would be nice. I think several posters usually attend, don't they?

Thanks KATHY for your prayers! God has answered our prayers for Bill's Mother-in-law...she has recovered amazingly well from her recent swoon. Of course, she is 99, so her recovery is all the more amazing! Much better as of now.

My vocal/congestion issues seem to have been seasonal, like the stuff going on there in your area. Still not 100%, but functionally better. April will be a big month of TV taping for The Prophets. We all appreciate your support.

PS: I get to talk a little on our shows and...I will be talking about Ed's election to the SGMA Hall of Fame, as soon as producers give me the go ahead! We are all so proud of him.

Congratulations Ed Hill.

A great singer and a well deserved honor.

I'm glad that you will be inducted into the Hall of Fame in Big Orange Country. Have a big ol' funnel cake at Dollyworld and put it on my tab.

Thanks...i contributed some of the info for that piece. Ed has had quite a career. Need to send DBM some more info really. I encourage any SG fan to take a look at the history of TPQ. Some great singers and people have been in this group!

Hey Prophets' friends and fans! PLEASE pray for Johnny and Sherry Minick. Their longtime pet Shnauzer, Max, had to be put down yesterday.
Max was a special, feisty fellow that they rescued from abused beginnings.

They buried Max under an oak tree on their property. They had a very sad day. I was glad to hear from Michael Sykes that he was able to be with them part of the day. Some of you know that we lost our 12 year old Rotty, Butkus, last October. Johnny was the first friend from the SG world to comfort us. Pets are a gift from God to give mankind companionship. We feel the loss everyday.
The Minicks will miss Max greatly...as will I, everytime I visit in there home....again, please pray for Johnny & Sherry.
