I run slow but pretty even pace according to my Garmin.

Maybe I am used to treadmills, don't know. Going to the gym right from work.

I ran a good 2 miles this morning - ended up with a great time. I think the cooler weather is helping me speed up or something. Either that or my watch is broken. It was pretty chilly this morning - upper 20s. Brrrrrr!

I definitely run faster in the cold weather--it makes me feel very springy!

That's what I'm thinking - I move faster to try and warm up!

I've noticed that I run faster in the cold weather, too -- or maybe it just feels like it.

I ran/cycled several days last week which was wonderful, but this week seems to be more difficult because I'm trying to get ready for our dinner on Thursday -- on short notice. Then today, one of my children was ill, and attending school activities. Oh, well.

I only ran for about 15 minutes before I had to take a short break. But then I did 20 minutes on the exercise bike.

I had a decent run tonight. 3.1 kind of slow, but not too bad. Next up, the Turkey Trot on Thursday!

I think I will run tonight. Rough night last night and sleep was needed more than a run.

stellaluna - Good luck at the turkey trot. I have not heard those works since jr high! LOL! I got 2nd place and a turkey. :)

When I get too cold, I roll up into a ball and don't do anything. So running in the cold would not do me any good. But then running at the HOT gym does not help either. I am thankful the treadmill has its own fan.

Good luck to all those racing today! I chose not to run last night but will this morning - although not in a race.

Our Turkey Trot had about 450 people running and it went well--minus the unwelcome hill by the zoo with the distinctive and strong zoo smell wafting over the course. I finished in 31:20 and my sweet, poorly-trained husband ran it in 33:25. I was so proud of him!!! It was perfect running weather, 40 degrees and sunny, very little wind. Afterward though, when they were giving out door prizes, the cold front that is now covering us with freezing rain blew in. Eek! Finished in the nick of time.

p31woman and HPD didn't make it, having gotten to town waaaaaay late last night.

stellaluna--nicely done!!!

Wednesday evening I went up to Grandma's. Early Thanksgiving morning I went for a run in my hometown. Not much zip in my step, but it was a very enjoyable run. We came home Thursday evening.

Friday morning ds1 and I rode back up to Grandma's. We ended up with strong crosswinds. It was a very difficult 85mile ride! We rode home today. Again, wind was not our friend. We had headwinds all day! But, it was warm and sunny, so it was pretty enjoyable.

Well I am excited. I did my 40 minutes without stopping. I think it helped that my friend came in 1/2 way through my run at the gym, and was talking to me, and so I did not pay attention to my running. It was nice to have the distration. But Yeah! I had to slow my sprints down, but I am able to do it!

Now my complaint. My back hurts tonight. :( Too much walking in the stores. :)

I ran on the treadmill today 2 miles and walked a mile. It started snowing, and it hasn't stopped. Its supposed to be about 6 inches..visibility was down too so only those who wanted to get killed should be out running on the side of the road.

Our winds are back up to 40 mph. Seriously...WHY? WHY? WHY?!!! Crazy, I'm going crazy!!!

Anywho...I actually took myself to the gym to run on the treadmill because I couldn't face the wind, but I didn't want to miss a run. Well, I ran for 45 minutes, but right at the end that safety doohickie thing fell out and the treadmill came to a screeching halt and turned itself off. So I don't know how far I went. I wasn't paying attention before. I think it might have been close to four miles. Four and a half? Grrr...who knows...

I have done that before. I hate the little safety thing, the strings are so long I sometimes hit it accidentally. It won't turn on either if you remove it.

I am asking for a pair of running shorts for christmas. My mom always decides that she'll get something different though so who knows what I'll end up with. Hmm.

Hello runners! I'm very proud of myself because I got out and ran everyday of my holiday weekend - and finished it with a 3 mile run today. Tomorrow is my day off and I actually think I earned it!

Well I am so excited, as I got 3 new tanks for running. The ones I have been using are really not apropriate for mixed company anymore as my chest grew.

Next I want new shorts, but I will try for that after Christmas. Maybe there will be a great sale. :)

For Christmas, I'm pleading with my family to not buy me anything else but pool their moneys and get me a Garmin 305. My uncle heard my pleading and mentioned they were $40 off at Costco. I think he wants one too...

Kristin--I have the 305 and love it! I had a 301 for a couple years and it worked pretty well, but the 305 is certainly better! I gave the 301 to ds1 and he's pretty happy with it.

I went for a swim yesterday. It was good for working out a bit of the stiffness in my legs. My arms were still dead, so I cut it to 2000yds, rather than the 3-4000yds planned.

This morning I went for a run. Just a neighborhood trot. 4.5miles I think? At a 9:20pace. My legs are still a bit sore, but I was wanting to run, so I'm happy with the run.

Everything I've read about the 305 is that it's a whole new ball game with the GPS gear - just outstanding. Since my other one slowly died after my bike accident, I've been wanting to get a new one but not wanting to dish out the money.

Today was my day off from my runs. I've pretty tired from the holiday weekend so staying in bed that extra hour this morning was really nice!

I have the 305. It's great. They last a long time too so you'll definitely get a lot of use out of it.

Some chick over at the Runner's World forums started a shoe exchange for people to donate their used (but still good) running shoes to runners who have lost jobs or otherwise can't afford them. I just gave away my Brooks Adrenalines.
