Amy is ok, and Matt is growing on me a lot. He's a cutie-bug. What I figure about the crack is that the original explosion happened the day of Amy's wedding. This explosion triggered cracks in space and time throughout the universe, in all different times. The specific crack that appeared in the angel forest was sealed up by all those angels, but that doesn't account for all of the other cracks causing trouble throughout the universe. The crack on Amy's wall was probably what caused her to forget about the daleks, as she hadn't become a time traveler yet. There may be other cracks on Earth causing people to forget the cyberman, for example.

Honestly, with the way the Doctor Who (2005-?) has been working...I've been waiting for them to find a way to bring back Adric as some sort of villain. His name was the last thing Peter Davison said, after all. Even though he's supposed to be dead. But so were the Daleks after every single episode they've ever been in. Also waiting on the Valeyard to somehow make another appearance. Especially with the way this past week's episode worked out. People just don't stay gone in this show. Ah well.

ORIGINAL: Sideways And what kind of clock changes the date when it changes from 11:59am to 12:00pm? Now, I admit someone had to point this out to me, but in the forest, when the doctor leaves Amy at first, then comes back in for a very tight shot and says "You have to trust me. Remember what I told you when you were 7." He's wearing his coat then. He wasn't wearing it just before or just after, but only for that tight shot. Was it a wardrobe error or something else? You remind me of my mum - she'd notice things like that, lol. I have to say I didn't see those things at all - too busy enjoying it all!!

Oh for me noticing those things are part of my enjoyment. It doesn't detract (usually) from my enjoyment of the show. Besides, I think some of that may come up later on in the show, which would be cool.

We got digital cable and found the new Dr on demand. Watched up thru Angels part 1. I like the new Dr. I have not seen anyone else in the roll besides Tennant, so I did not watch a prior change to understand quite what was going on. ( I did read about it ) Is it just me or have the first few shows seemed to be spoofs on classic SF shows? Like taking the ww2 planes up to shoot down the Dalets (Star Wars shooting down the Death Star) and having a mystery woman named River (Firefly)? Is this intentional?

Well, my dH had to go and fall asleep super early (he needs the sleep), so I don't want to watch Who without him, but I shall give you Brits my review of the Vampire episode tomorrow night :)

Ok, saw the Vampires episodes, and I have to say the plot wasn't particularly watertight. This will not be making my list of my favorite episodes from this season. But it did have some good moments, and I found that I enjoyed meeting Mickey 2.0

I liked the Vampires episode. I like that they were actually (spoiler alert, but really, this is Doctor Who, so one could guess it) aliens and the gray moral area of the choice the Doctor made between the citizens of Venice and the aliens. And I liked the different dynamic between The Doctor, Amy and her fiance. It was pretty much a given that Rose would chose The Doctor over Mickey, but Amy? Less certain.

So they killed off Amy Pond's fiancee Rory. Interesting that they both lost memory of him despite being time travelers. What happened with the engagement ring? Is that still sitting on the Tardis' control module?

Did the doctor forget? I didn't realize he did. Wow...and I would think the ring is still there. Hmmm...perhaps a future plot and all?

The Doctor didn't forget about Rory. Only Amy did...and well, everyone he ever knew. The Doctor kept the engagement ring in his pocket to hide it from Amy.

That was by far the best and most phenomenal series/season finale of the new Doctor Who. Every single second was perfect. No complaints at all. And it set up the next series/season so well with such an interesting mystery. Steven Moffat truly is light years ahead of Russel T. Davies in the way he thinks and writes. He can truly write some absolutely brilliant television. *SPOILER* The fact that we finally get to really explore River Song's character in the next series/season is going to be awesome. I can't wait to see who she actually is and what her true intentions are.

Just saw the 6/26 BBC America 11:00 pm central time Dr. Who episode - with the artist (don't want to take away from anyone who hasn't seen it yet). A-MA-ZING. I cried.

I've watched the last episode twice now. It is equally amazing the second time around. Steven Moffat truly is an incredible writer. The next series is going to be incredible. I have so much faith in him as a producer and a writer. In most of the episodes, the CGI wasn't that great. But it was fantastic in the last episode, even though it wasn't a big blow-out space battle like most of RTD's. *Spoiler* River Song making the Dalek beg before she killed him. Great! And then her cryptic words to the Doctor throughout the episode...first with, "Rule #1...the Doctor lies." And then at the end with her telling him that they are going to meet soon and that everything will change after that. Her time line makes me wonder. She was already in prison when these episodes began...so what is she going to do to be put in prison in the future episodes? They already hinted that she kills the Doctor...but Matt Smith is supposed to be around for three more series.

OK, It seemed like he had forgotten him also but he called Vincent 'Rory' in this latest episode. I am not convinced that Smith makes a better Dr than David Tennent, but he may be getting close.

Well, I don't know if I like Matt better than David, because David set a really high bar. I do think Matt is trying to integrate more of the personality quirks of the past Doctors. I'm not sure how I feel about what I know regarding the finale. While I don't want to see another Rose any time soon, and could live with out ever seeing another lovesick companion ever again, I like it best when either doors are not closed, or are never open (as was done with Donna, and done in a way that made it fine and dandy that they'd never consider a romantic relationship). I want to hold out the possibility that Susan's grandmother (or mother, if the Doctor was her father, not grandfather) is out there, somewhere, and a very young Susan, in the future, is sent back to live with the First Doctor to keep her safe. And I absolutely don't want River Song to be revealed as some great love of the Doctor's life. I'd rather see just the opposite, maybe a spurned lover (or a woman with unrequited feelings) who's been lying to him about their past. I think most of the women that the Doctor has been drawn to in a more-than-friendship way have had better character than she does.

Just saw the newest (in the USA) episode called The Lodger. Outstanding work by Matt. I really enjoyed it. I was pretty let down by that stupid 2-parter involving the reptile race in the center of the Earth, but this last one was brilliant.

I just got the full set of Tennent's last season. (s4) I have seen about half of them. Am working my way thru the season. When I put on the current season epi #12 (first part of the season closer) I was struck by how different Tennant and Matt Smith are in that role. I had thought Tennant was kinda bright and cheery. Compared to Smith he is downright dark and moody in the role of the Doctor. One of the epis I saw from season 4 was "The Doctor's Daughter." Do we know if she ever shows up again?

I don't remember seeing the daughter again, but yes, Tennant had his darker moments. Of course, compared to Eccelston, he was pretty chipper.

Last Saturday night, the beginning of the two-part season ender aired here in the US. All four of us in the family loved it. For the first time, I really kind of liked Rory. Still am not crazy about River, but the Alex Kingston plays the character well (I remember her from ER...just how old is she?). Funniest line I've seen on the internet was something about how River is like a female Captain Jack.
