Thanks Ray and Cinderella, I spent yesterday researching juicers and pricing them. I also sent a pm to WhiteRoseBlessings.

Hey, Mike! I'm doing better this morning than I was last night. It's a good thing too, because last night I wasn't fit company for anyone, including myself. I'm off to shower, dress and go Christmas shopping. I'm hoping to have all my packages sent by Monday.

Between that last post and this, I did my shopping for the one son who lives on the other side of the country--online. So convenient, though they won't get to him gift wrapped. So I wrote an e-mail and told him to not open the boxes till Christmas. Now I have 1 1/2 gifts to buy and maybe more stocking stuffers. That's for the gifts being sent. I'll have more shopping to do once these are done.

1-1/2 gifts to buy ... *snickers* The other day a couple coworkers and I were discussing the size of the families we came from. She said she had 1-1/2 siblings. We were all like "HUH" and she had one sister and one 1/2 sister due to remarriage of her parents. LOL

LOL, Sam! Well, in this case, I have given myself a certain spending limit for each person and for one, I've only bought half of that.

Hi everyone! Sorry that I haven't been here for a long time, but I've been rather busy. Mary's Dad died last Saturday morning, and so I've been dealing with all of that for the last week - and I didn't even have the opportunity to celebrate my 50th birthday on Tuesday. The visitation was that evening with the funeral on Wednesday afternoon. I've got a lot to tell about this whole week, but no time right now, so I'll do it in my blog as soon as I can get to it. My prayers are still with Pengie, if someone will get the message to her somehow. Love to all of you! Duane

Happy 50th birthday, Duane! I'm sorry to learn of your loss. {{{{{{{{{Duane}}}}}}}}} {{{{{{{{{{{{{{{Mary}}}}}}}}}} I've been thinking of phoning Pengie. I really should. Maybe tomorrow, since she may be tucked in for the night already. Well, I'm back from shopping. I wound up just buying stocking stuffers--LOTS of stocking stuffers. But I have six "kids" (four sons, two girlfriends--though I wouldn't be surprised to buy for and I have so much fun finding small things they would have fun with in some way. Of course, I'll need something bigger than a stocking for each kid, but that's okay. AND for the three that won't be home for Christmas (two girlfriends and ds4), I've decided I'm going to wrap each little stocking stuffer. I don't usually, but for two of them, it's their first Christmas away from home and the more things to unwrap, the more fun it will be. I've never had a Christmas away from family. I can't imagine what that would be like. I went to a store called Bulk Barn today--a Canadian chain--and bought so much stuff, that they actually packed everything into a very nice, colourful, reusable bag. I came home from shopping to find my dining room full of living room furniture. In the barren living room, ds2, his girlfriend and two footbag friends had a large "carpet" of dense foam "puzzle" pieces and were taking turns doing their awesome footbag "tricks." Well, all except the girlfriend, who is still learning and so was just kicking the bag up in the air from one foot to the other, slowly. Still, I couldn't do that much. The living room is the girlfriend's bedroom while she's here, so she's displaced and so is my usual computer spot at the dining table. But ds2 is good. He will be sure to put everything back. I think it's cool that we can clear out a big space like they have for other purposes. When we first moved here, I thought the place was perfect for parties and dancing. It IS good for large parties but I don't think we've ever had dancing here. :(

Maggie, sounds like you've been quite industrious. Good for you. I've still got gifts organised. I'm going to try and make some if I can get some motivation, and have the time to do it. Won't be anything big. Happy belated birthday, Duane. Duane I did share your news. I started a thread.

Ummmm, yes. It's tough for a day or two, then you're good. Kinda like withdrawing from coffee. Occasionally I won't post for a day or two because life is too hectic.

I have been limiting my posting to mostly weekends. I am still around here and there, but weeknights I tend to lay low instead.

I have withdrawals from CW, mainly when I CAN'T have CW, like when the computer's down for some reason, or we have a long power outage. Hey Maggs, I thought of you tonight. There was a garden show here this evening about eastern Canada. They showed some of Halifax and Cabot Trail(?) and Nova Scotia. Some other places too, but I don't remember them all. It just makes me want to come to Canada even more now. One day, hopefully...

The Cabot Trail is gorgeous! Some of my ancestors arrived in Halifax in 1752 and lived there for a couple years before the British government finally gave them (their promised) land in what became known as Lunenberg, now a World Heritage Site. There are places there named after my ancestors. I hope you CAN make it here one day. It would be cool to meet you. You do need to be prepared, however, to the idea that places are far apart here--at least anything west of south-eastern Ontario. I think Australia is about the same in that regard.

That's awesome, Maggie! Where were your ancestors from? If I ever get to Canada, Maggie, I'm coming to meet you.

The ones who landed in Halifax were from the Palatine, a region that is now mostly south western Germany but also includes bits of France and Switzerland. They comprise an 1/8th of my ancestry. If you come to Canada and DON'T come to meet me, I will be very cross with you. And even if a long time passes that we have no contact with each other for whatever reason, you still have to come and visit. (That goes for all of you posting in this thread.)

Oh! I tried phoning Pengie yesterday, but there was no answer. If they screen their calls with call display, they wouldn't have known who was calling. I'll keep trying.
