I posted in this thread earlier that I thought that the Christian Sheppard on The Island was the Smoke Monster, but I was thinking about last night and now I'm not so sure. I mean, when you think about it all the people that he's impersonated (Locke, Alex and Yemi) have been dead, but their bodies were still there on The Island, they weren't actually possessed. But Christian's body was never found. I'm guessing whatever happened to him is whatever has now happened to Sayid.

Adrenalinejunkie, that theory about Christian is an interesting one that I hadn't thought of before. If UnLocke is a manifestation of the Man in Black/Smokey, then does that mean that Christian is a manifestation of Jacob? I remember Christian saying he speaks for Jacob.

Except Jacob was still alive then. Smokey doesn't in habit dead people's bodies, since Locke's body was in the trunk while he was impersonating him. So if Jacob is similarly gifted, he wouldn't be "in" Sayid's body, right?

Oh, she's not dead - she's the only one who knows that it worked, which means she's alive in the other timeline. Perhaps being so close to death gave her a glimpse "sideways,"? Perhaps her comments on getting coffee were from the alternate timeline somehow, after she and Sawyer meet up, sans-Island?

You mean like what happened to Charlotte?

I have a feeling we'll see Charlotte in the ALT timeline, or whatever you want to call it, before the series ends and hear her utter, "I'm not allowed to have chocolate before dinner" to someone in the same way we'll probably see Juliet again talking about having coffee and going dutch.

dctalkgirl - are there computers/internet access at your local library? If you bring headphones could you watch there? You could probably do that periodically - watch the episodes online at ABC. Usually, the online shows are shorter too - only about 40 minutes or so long.

Well no. But actually I'm getting a new computer soon so hopefully I will be able to watch it after I get it.

I am just blown away with the imagination of the writers/producers of this show. Just when I thought they couldn't have anymore scenarios, they come up with the temple, which has existed unseen this whole time! I think that's one reason I like this show so much, because it is such a rich feast for the imagination.

Watched the new episode early this morning online. Whoa - I had to do a double take. So Jack's sister has been "claimed" by the darkness - isn't Jack's half-sister Claire?

I love the way the writers used the flashback to remind you of who Claire is - that way when she showed up, the audience was up to speed.

Didn't find out too much in that episode, did we?

You know, I really can't stand Kate. This is like the 4th time someone has told her "Don't follow me!" and does she EVER listen??? She's always in someone else's business! The woman needs learn how to LEAVE PEOPLE ALONE. She actually reminds me of someone I know...

I agree... I don't want Kate with anyone. She does annoy me.

I was a little shocked that Claire was like a new Rousseu.

Wow!

I am a little confused, would the pill kill Sayid or just kill the darkness in him?

And WOW! Sawyer was going to propose to Juliet... Aww! He was even crying. :(

Yeah, I can't wait to see Claire's story unfold!

I think the pill would kill Sayid, and that as their way of "curing" him, in the same way that Rouseu's bullets "cured" her friends.

I noticed the rifle, how could I miss it, but I didn't think of putting it together with Rousseu. I can see that now.

That is probably the only way to "cure" him. But I wonder how it lines up with the whole, 'if your friend dies we all die" thing.

I thought the creepiest part was Ethan serving as Claire's doctor. I was so relieved that he didn't go through with delivering her baby. I didn't think it would live if he delivered it.

Yeah, that was a great twist. This parallel universe has some interesting little quirks.

They speak alot about fate on the show. I am thinking that they are showing what would have happened had the plane not crashed. They all would have met up at some point.

I think it will be a bummer if at the end if we find out that the sideway story is the true plot in the entire series.

I think it was the parallel universe "poking" through when Claire (in L.A.) called her baby Aaron and said she didn't know where that came from. We think the two timelines are separated, but I think they are slowly going to collide.

This week's show was a major downer. I wish they would have taken Juliet to the pool that revived Sayid instead of burying her. It was so sad to see Sawyer crying. I forgot that for him it really has been in the course of the last 24 hours or so that all this has happened. A day or two earlier (for him emotionally) he was in that house with Juliet and everything was fine. He did a great acting job, though. His grief seemed so genuine.

The only thing I wondered was where he got the ring.
