One thing I love about this show is that the props are so realistic. Like last week, Jack's apartment just looked so "real" -- just like a batchelor pad would. It was plain but neat, golf clubs propped up by the closet door, just like I would expect of a divorced doctor -- he's disciplined enough to be neat, but he's not into decorating. There was something about it that didn't look like a set; instead, it reminded me of guys' apartments I've visited. And then last night, I think it was the scene where they tell Sayid to get in the car, when the door opened it reflected telephone poles. That just struck me as so real -- a detail that wouldn't be on a set. I think that's one of the things I really like about this show.

And the actress who played Claire did another great job of acting! Man, did she ever give Kate the evil eye! I wonder how she'll react when Kate tells her Aaron is with her mom and she realizes her mom's not in a coma anymore? And what happened to Jin? He let Claire in, but he wasn't with her when she appeared in the courtyard. And I don't think he was among the dead. It'll be interesting to see how he escaped.

I wonder if Kate has caught on to Claire's craziness yet?

Vincent is suppose to make an appearance.

We are suppose to learn why Richard doesn't age.

It looks like Fake Locke is mimicing Jacob. Jacob recruited Dogen so his son could live & he had a side kick Lennon. Now Flocke has recruited Sayid & will his side kick by Claire ?

Is Jacob recruiting a new Dogen & sidekick...Jack & Hurley or will he pull something else out with this candidate business.

Will Ben survive next weeks epi ?

But where is Sawyer ?

I made the comment a while back that Desmond wasn't in the Lost Supper photo. Where is Desmond, brothuh?

That has been my question too. He was in the plane sitting and talking to Jack then gone!

At the end of the show they are right back where they started -- trying to survive by camping out on the beach.

To be more specific, that part I get.

It's ben's flash sideways stuff with his dad that I am confused about.

What kind of questions do you have, Miss Giggles?

One thing I noticed is his father didn't seem to blame him for the death of his wife/ben's mother.

Claire is doing such a good job.

I watched the enhanced version of last week's epi, and the only thing I learned (Other than getting to see the end, my tivo cut off the last minute last week to record something else) is that Dogen didn't kill Sayid because then his balance would tip to the dark side. I wondered why he didn't kill him, seeing the ball drop didn't mean anything to me and the reason he gave Sayid for not killing him didn't make sense.

Sorry, Miss Giggles. I wasn't responding to your post but rather just throwing in my own observation.

And another observation ... I guess Charles Whidmore is the one Jacob was trying to guide to the island with the lighthouse. I wonder if Charles will save the day (from not-Locke/Smokey)?

Miss Giggles, it seemed to me that the ball dropping reminded him of his son - and perhaps the hope that Jacob would keep his promise so that he would see him again. You can't have the darkness inside of you AND follow Jacob. It has to be one or the other. Killing might have pushed him to that dark side. At least, this is the way I understand it.

Trinigirl - interesting question. Could be. One of the things I love about this show is that the people who appear to be bad are sometimes good and those who appear to be good are sometimes bad. It is so complex. Who would've thought that Ben would choose rightly and redeem himself? And who would've thought that Kate would choose the dark side (although it isn't clear that she knows exactly what she is doing or if she is just trying to preserve herself.)

Lots of questions raised in this show for thought. Almost all of the characters have suffered loss or have been brought back to the island with some sort of a promise. Everyone has choices - and so much of the choices that they made were influenced by pain or loss. Sawyer chose Locke (well sort-of) because of the pain of losing Juliette, Kate - possibly because of the pain of losing Sawyer. Sayyid because of the pain of losing the woman he loved. And yet some chose rightly - in spite of it all - Dogen, Jack, Ben. Interesting that in the end Ben chose to be with Jacob - the first time simply because of his lust for power, the second time, because he wanted love and acceptance and because he was sorry for what he did. Every time I watch this show, I draw very loose parallels between it and the christian walk - although I don't think this is the writers intent. Jacob, like Christ - omnipotent and unlimited. He can leave the island - because he did - he chooses - he orchestrates - he helps - he himself is in many ways unknowable. He is thought of as being very much like a father. Even though he's supposedly "dead" Hurley can see him and talk to him. And UnLocke, like the devil, - limited, requiring the help of human beings to spread terror. Dark and ferocious. Promising people the world, what he cannot deliver. But definitely limited.

This show is really awesome!

I love this show, too. My wife is sick of the flash sideways stuff. She says we've had enough of all that kind of thing and it's time to just tell us what is going on. I enjoy the whole alternate universe thing, but I guess that's the "geek" in me!

Ok I am confused because I know Ben could always leave the island so I am just wondering how the dad and daughter/not daughter fit in.

Is Ben Napoleon? A little tyrant, the only place where he has power is on an island?
I thought it interesting that on the island, he chose his power over his daughter's life, yet in the sideways universe, he chose Alex's future over the power he would have had as principal.
Maybe the Dharma initiative represents a corrupting influence on the island. His Dad did say "who knows what you would have become if we'd stayed on the island". Well, we know what he'd become, a power-mad killer.

I felt so bad for Ben. He tries to do right and follows Jacob and then he get manipulated by others. Then he says that he will go to MIB because they are the only ones that will have him. How sad!

I am almost starting to think Ben might end up taking Jacobs place, but he is not a candidate.

How is it that Sun and Jin have still not connected?

I don't think Kate will be bad, and I really don't think Kate knows what is going on.

I thought the explaination that Richard is always young because Jacob touched him was dumb. Jacob touched lots of people and they still grew older.

I loved the dynamite scene. That was awesome! Jack becoming a man of faith. My favorite hurley line: I remember this place, Arntz came out then there was Arntz all over my shirt. LOL!

Is Charles Whitmore going to just run into the beach with the sub?

I am not liking the idea that Sun or Jin will take over the keeping of the island because they need to go home and take care of their kid.

I used to not like the flashbacks because the action on the island was so much more interesting. But now the island stuff has become so convoluted and boring that I look forward to the flashsideways. This might be heresy, but maybe it's good the show is ending when it is.

Call me slow. Read in the Enhanced Version that Keamy & his mercenaries were the mob guys in the restaurant kitchen. Kept thinking I had seen him somewhere.

Which one is the hydra station ?

What if Widmore is on FLocke's side ? Flocke is looking for a way off the island.

Last season while Jack, Kate, Sawyer, Hurley and Sayid were in the '70s, Sayid shot Ben when he was a kid, then Kate and some others took him to The Others who told them that if they save him, he'll always be one of them. But 815 never crashed, they never went back to the '70s and therefore Ben never became an Other and never killed his father or stole Alex.

Hope I made that clear!

Anyway, onto my thoughts of Tuesday's episode. I had to catch it a day late, but the wait was worth it! I was REALLY hoping Ilana wouldn't kill Ben. I really can't believe he passed up unLocke's offer! I think he made a good choice though. I soo can't wait for next Tuesday's episode!!!

I don't think Kate chose the dark side either. My guess is Claire tricked her into coming so she can get Kate alone and kill her.

I often come away from this show thinking of the Christian parallels. Another parallel is Jacob's choosing candidates is akin to Jesus' choosing disciples.

*******
I love all the sideways stuff!

One thing that didn't make sense to me was "sideways" Ben's father mourning that he wasn't a success. Well, he got a doctorate degree, so I don't think the fact that they left the island had much to do with it. If he had a PhD he probably could have found success in the U.S. if he really tried.

The Hydra station is where they used to keep the dolphins and whales -- where they locked Jack up when Ben's group first kidnapped him.

Hmmm ... this is interesting. I wonder if it had something to do with the school that he went to and his major - or even his father's illness or their poverty. Remember the principal went to Yale (although I don't know too many people from Yale who would be the principal at a high school - but maybe I'm wrong) and the principal didn't really respect that. He didn't address him as Dr. - talked about how he (ben) couldn't help the young girl with the recommendations because he (ben) hadn't gone to Yale. Maybe he just went to a regular school that wasn't highly ranked because that was what he could afford. In the humanities PhD's don't always lead to higher paying jobs unfortunately - so I'm thinking that this is what happened to him. Maybe too, his father's illness tied him to one spot. It wasn't like he could do a nationwide job search like most PhD's do. That's how I saw it anyway. I'm thinking that at some point I'll watch the enhanced versions - so when I do I'm going to pay close attention to this. Now my interest is piqued!

And I hadn't thought about the obvious parallels to disciples - but I think that is exactly what is happening there. That's a good observation. I personally don't think that Jacob is about to stay dead. I could just see ABC running a commercial that shows one word at a time: JACOB IS BACK. But we'll see.
