I was hoping Melissa would be leaving too - certainly more than John leaving. He needed it more and appears to be a nicer person. It's still a bit hard to tell yet who I actually hope wins though.

If Red had been below the yellow line, I totally would have sent the husband home. Easier to win against her than him.

It was nice to see Miggy with a smile on her face. She was completely different than the weeks before. I wonder if she was trying to be so tough in front of her daughter? I wish the two of them would have both let go of anger like Miggy has this week. I would bet they would have had better weight loss, and possibly not lost a place in the house.

Wonder which one of the two "torch holders" will be the winner.

I wondered too if Melissa was gaining muscle. The real evidence would be in inches rather than pounds. I think it's unfair to judge solely on pounds lost and percentage. there are so many factors there including how far they are from their ideal weight, muscle mass and even with women, monthly cycles. I guess they have to find some common ground rather than a complicated measuring tool but still. I was amazed at how she really got into boxing at home and was really looking good. She looks a lot smaller than 175 so maybe she does carry a lot of weight in muscle. She looks good. I just love Sam and Koli. They are my favs this season. Seem to be such good guys.

People aren't going to gain that much muscle. There should be weight loss when you burn 6000+ calories per day and eat 1200 calories per day. If she were doing those things, she could gain 3 or 4 lbs of muscle and still be losing 3-4 lbs. And, when you have more muscle, you burn more calories even at rest. She was fully, 100% game playing. No sympathy for her. I think she felt since she was the healthies and smallest there that she had more time to play the game. Soooooo glad she is gone!

I think she was relying on her husband to help carry her weight (no pun intended). She wanted him to lose the weight more than she wanted to lose it herself. So I think she purposely put pressure on him to make sure he did his share of the work and then some. And twice now she had two weeks of weight gain. I'm glad she's gone, too.

Mellissa never bothered me all that much, though I think there were many times when she should've kept her mouth shut. She did look really good at home, though. She knew herself she was never going to get the grand prize. You have to be over 400lbs in order to have enough weight to loose.

Wouldn't it be more fair to have everyone within a certain weight bracket at the beginning? Or at least BMI...

Not if you can vote off all the extra large people. Don't forget that blond woman (can't remember her name) who won two seasons ago. She was not uber big even getting stated.

I was called to the hospital to be with a dying relative, so I couldn't watch the rest of Biggest Loser. From what I'm reading, it sounds like Melissa fell below the red line and is gone because she gained weight. How much did she gain? Who were the ones who fell below the yellow line? Which one of them went home?

Well Melissa those athletes trained for their entire lives. I think calling their medal "stupid" is a big insult. So you don't want to weight three weeks. The athletes waited at least 4 years. Theres other stuff to do, its not the end of the world. eta: complain to NBC. They made special arrangements for airing Ellen and Dr Oz.

ORIGINAL: _Cinderella_ I don't think the Olympics are stupid, and neither do a lot of other people. Stuff gets put on hold for other big events, so why not for the Olympics? I guess it depends on the event. I changed the channel when I saw the Olympics and realized that Biggest Loser was going to be on hold until after the Olympics. It wasn't Figure Skating was it? Tell me it wasn't Figure Skating. It would be interesting to know how the ratings for that time spot did with the Olympics there instead of Biggest Loser. I wonder how many turned the channel, like me, when they realized that Biggest Loser wasn't on? God bless

I'm not sure relying on The Biggest Loser can help teach healthy lifestyles. Yes, the show does have tips, but it's based on others' personal journeys (and of course, drama). If anything I think it should be used more as motivation than information. Besides, the contestants on the show have the opportunity and resources - their lives on the show revolve around working out all day. The majority of us do not have that luxury, so we have to learn to do it on our own. As for the olympics, we all knew that the show would not be airing for three weeks. It's a pre-planned event so no shows will be skipped. We just have to find other things to do with our time until the show comes back on.
